Flavours of Nepal

Dal bhat — Flavours of Nepal

Dal bhat

Lentils, rice and vegetable curry, every trekker’s fuel: “dal bhat power, 24 hour”.

Momos — Flavours of Nepal

Momos

Steamed Nepali dumplings filled with yak, buffalo or vegetables depending on altitude.

Chiya — Flavours of Nepal

Chiya

Black tea with milk and spices, served hot in every teahouse along the trail.

Above 4,000 metres, Himalayan logic is simple: dal bhat comes with unlimited refills because it gives enough energy to keep climbing. Eating in a Khumbu teahouse with Sherpa families who have fed walkers for generations is as much a part of EBC as the glacier itself.
